Just Why you should write your will

Your will is the single most important legal document you will ever prepare in your life. It is recommended that everyone should have one.
So what if you don`t ? if you die without a will you will have died intestate, this means that the state will decide how your estate is distributed using a pre-defined format, this could mean that those who you wanted to benefit from your estate may not do so.

These are the reasons we often here for not making a will:-

  • One of the reasons we here is " when i make my will I will die " All you are doing when preparing your will is putting in place your final wishes in preparation for the day you will eventually pass.
  • I don`t have any money to leave, so why bother. Most people have assets, the one they always forget about is their property.
  • I haven't got anyone to leave anything to.We can all think of someone we can leave our estate to, maybe a distant relative. If you can`t think of anyone, and you have no living relatives your estate will go to the crown, do you really want that ? there are many worthy charities who rely on bequests from peoples wills, so why not choose a charity.
  • I can`t afford to make a will. Actually the response here is , can you afford not to make a will.By not protecting your estate especially your property, you may lose everything to Long Term Care Costs for example. For more information on protecting your property visit www.mcwillwriters.co.uk .
